How to Surf the Web without a Computer

There are many devices available today that will allow you to surf the Internet from any location. The most popular is the smartphone. However, smartphones require you to sign up for an expensive data plan in order to access the web. These costs can add up quickly.

Another option is a wifi enabled portable device. These devices can connect to any hotspot and give you Internet access. Here are some examples.

  1. Ipod Touch - Has email and an excellent Safari browser that displays full webpages - currently lacks flash support.
  2. Nokia N810 Internet Tablet - Has a slide-out keyboard but it is expensive.
  3. Sony Mylo Com-2 - Can play flash videos in websites.
  4. Nintendo DS (with opera browser cartridge) - Slow, but it does give you web access.
